Remember our veterans

This past weekend we celebrated Veteran’s Day. How many of you acknowledge this day?

My husband and two of my sons served our country in the Navy. They left behind their friends, family and homes so all of us can enjoy freedom.

To most folks, I suppose Veteran’s Day is just a date on the calendar. We celebrate Valentine’s Day, possibly St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Labor Day and Grandparent’s Day – but we fail to give admiration and respect to our Veterans.

Perhaps I’ve given you all some food for thought.

Next year, please show respect to our wonderful Veterans. Call them, send a card or letter, visit with them, take them out for a burger or meal or give them a cake.

Never let another Veteran’s Day go by without showing appreciation to our Veterans and the freedom we have because of their many sacrifices.
