WJ Middle, Elementary Cross Country teams perform well at state championships Saturday

The West Jessamine girls 7th/8th grade team placed 10th at state. This is the highest finish in WJMS history.

Standouts included: Ether Kratzer (54th place), Kiersten Stryker (57th place), Layni Shouse (77th), Joy Livingston (132nd), Christiana Barlowe (136th), Zoe Carter (249th), and Sophia Brannen (274th). Overall there were 412 girls in that race.

The boys 7th/8th grade team placed 25th overall.

Standouts included: Nathan Livingston (114th), Nate Hershey (154th), Carter McMillen (164th), Wade Edmonds (174th), David Durrance (308th), Caleb LeMaster (309th), Cooper Bender (324th). Overall there were 494 athletes in that race.

Boys & Girls 7th/8th Grade Open Race — Ian Rhodes (73rd), Jonathan Strange (80th), and Sadie Young (106th).

Boys 4th & Under Boys Championships — Laettner Bolt, 37th out of 379.

Boys 4th & Under Open — Samuel Biddulph (9th), Luke Allen (22nd), Gabe Schlafer (43rd), and Levi Weber (91st).

Girls 4th & Under Open — Molly Curtsinger (7th), Addison Thompson (22nd), Nola Marcum (73rd), Elizabeth Ginn (120th), Posey Bower (123rd), and Kennedy Thompson (132nd).

In the Boys 4th and Under Championships, Laettner Bolt placed 37th overall.
