The Jessamine County KCAL Old Time Radio Troupe will once again bring old time radio to Nicholasville next weekend. The next performances will be an encore presentation of “Arsenic and Old Lace” – first performed in the Spring of 2016. Performances are scheduled 7 p.m. Sept. 28; 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 30.

Tickets are still available for purchase for the matinee performance scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Saturday Sept. 29. The shows will take place in the newly renovated KCAL Hometown Theatre, located at 109 South Main Street, formerly known as the home of the Creative Art League of Jessamine County.

KCAL Producer Doug Fain said if you know the plot of the play you will understand why it is great to set off the Halloween season.

“Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic comedy that holds a great number of surprises for the audience. Those that don’t know the play will be greatly surprised at what happens,” Fain said.

The performance features all the original cast from 2016, with the exception of Steve Watts who will play the part of Officer Rooney.

“KCAL prides itself of bringing wholesome, inexpensive family entertainment to our community,” Fain said. “We love performing old time radio plays and the intermission refreshments are pretty good too!”

Tickets for the KCAL Christmas Show, Dec. 7 – 9, are also currently on sale.
