WJHS cheer clinic

West Jessamine High School cheerleaders will host a cheer clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Rosenwald-Dunbar Elementary School, located at 1500 Wilmore Way. The clinic is $30 per person, and is open to children ages kindergarten through fifth-grade. Snacks and water will be provided. Participants will be invited to perform at half-time on Aug. 31 at the WJHS football game.

Jessamine Classic Theatre presents ‘Oklahoma!’

Jessamine Classic Theatre presents “Oklahoma!” on stage at Bethel Harvest Church, located at 3260 Lexington Road, starting at 7 p.m. Aug. 24, 25, 30, 31 and Sept. 1. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children 13 years old and younger. Tickets can be bought in advance by visiting jctyk.com or at the door.

Wilmore Concert Weekend

The last concert weekend in Wilmore on the Downtown Green will take place Friday and Saturday. On Friday, Gospel on the Green will feature hometown favorites The Moron Brothers. The concert will start at 7 p.m. and will feature Hometown Catering, who will be on site selling food.

On Saturday, the Stonebridge series closes with “Picnic Under The Stars,” featuring the big band sounds of the 17-piece group The Metrognomes. The picnic will be catered by Quincy Catering Service. For this event, the food will be available at 6:30 p.m., with the concert starting at 7 p.m.

Rain or shine there will be music on the Downtown Green. Tables and chairs are provided, or you can bring your own. Both concerts are free, but attendees are asked to bring canned food for the local food pantry or pet food for the animal shelter.

East family reunion this month

The East family announced a family reunion, which will take place at 1 p.m., Aug. 26, in the blue building at the Jessamine County Parks and Recreation building, located at 402 Park Drive.

Well nutrition hosts Body Recall

Carolyn Walter will teach her exercise class “Body Recall,” from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday until further notice at The Well Nutrition, located at 123 Orchard Drive. Walters is a 23-year teacher. All are welcome. For more information, call 859-548-8203 or 859-241-3552.

Jessamine DUI offers education program

The Jessamine DUI and Substance Abuse Program offers a 20-hour education program weekly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. An out-patient program is offered Mondays at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Assessments are by appointment only. Attendees must have a court AOC form, citation and conviction date prior to appointment. Dare to be Square

Square Dance Classes from the Down Under Squares will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Jessamine County Fairgrounds blue building in Nicholasville. The first two lessons are free.
