Jessamine County real estate broker arrested for assault

Dennis K. King, 60, of 4779 Sulphur Well in Nicholasville, was arrested July 28 for fourth-degree assault, according to a citation issued by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a physical domestic violence dispute, and upon contact with the victim, were advised King allegedly was drinking, got angry and began striking the victim with his fists, according to the citation.

The victim was described as having severe swelling and bruising of the face, bleeding from both eyes and the left ear, and allegedly told deputies some ribs may be broken as well.

King stated he was drinking and remembered arguing, but does not allegedly remember the physical altercation, according to the citation.

Both parties told deputies no one else was at the residence at the time of the assault.

King was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Lexington man arrested for reckless driving

Justin M. Clark, 25, of 944 De Porres Ave. in Lexington, was arrested July 26 for speeding 26 mph over the speed limit, reckless driving, disregarding traffic light and fleeing or evading police, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers received a call in reference to a reckless driver traveling southbound on US 27 at a high rate of speed and running traffic lights. Officers observed Clark traveling southbound on US 27 and confirmed with radar he was going 87 mph in a 55 mph zone.

While attempting to stop Clark at Etter Drive, Clark ran a traffic light and allegedly did so with no regard for the safety of other traffic traveling north on US 27, according to the citation.

Stopping in the parking lot of Donaldson Manufacturing, Clark fled the vehicle and entered the factory on foot. Clark was identified by name from the passenger in his vehicle, a female who had with her a small child, according to the citation.

Clark allegedly told officers he was going to be late for work and he did not see them.

Clark was arrested and taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Lexington man arrested for DUI

Brandon Edward Waites, 22, of 3608 Bold Bidder Drive in Lexington, was arrested July 29 for DUI, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers received a call from an anonymous caller at the stop sign of John Sutherland Drive and Platt Drive advising that Waites appeared to be unconscious behind the steering wheel of his vehicle.

Jessamine County Emergency Management Services arrived on scene and attempted to wake Waites, although their attempts failed. After gaining access to the vehicle through the rear door, EMS was able to wake Waites who was described as having slurred speech.

When officers asked Waites where he was, he allegedly told them, “Lexington near Bold Bidder Drive,” according to the citation.

Officers asked Waites again, and he then told officers he did not know and was confused. Waites was then questioned about what substance he had taken and told the officers “nothing,” according to the citation.

Waites was asked to perform a field sobriety test, which he failed. He was then placed under arrest and taken to St. Joseph Jessamine. While in route, Waites allegedly admitted to taking three Xanax pills and was not sure how he arrived in Nicholasville.

Waites submitted to a blood test and was then transferred to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Woman arrested for public intoxication

Nicole Ashley Atkins, 28, address unknown, was arrested July 29 for public intoxication (excluding alcohol), according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers received a call in reference to a dispute and subjects yelling at the area of 201 S. Second St.

Upon arrival, Atkins told officers she had been in an altercation with another subject in the area. Atkins was described as manifestly under the influence of narcotics or drugs and posed as a danger to herself and others, according to the citation.

Atkins was also described as unsteady on her feet, not being able to hold still, forgetting events which had just occurred and being unable to advise a coherent story to officers.

Atkins was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for alcohol intoxication

David Smith, 47, of 947 Second St. in Nicholasville, was arrested July 27 for alcohol intoxication, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

An anonymous caller advised Smith was at Rockfence Park and was hiding in the bushes near the fence trying to get kids to come to him.

Smith was located by officers sitting behind a bush holding a bottle of lotion. Next to Smith was a bottle of Mt. Dew and vodka. Smith was described as not able to speak without slurring and could not walk without assistance.

Described as manifestly under the influence of alcohol, Smith was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for methamphetamine

Bobby White, 22, of 836 Wilmore Road in Nicholasville, was arrested July 23 for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers responded to North Main Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. White was the front-seat passenger in the vehicle. White was known to have three warrants for his arrest from Jessamine County court. As White was exiting the vehicle, he removed a pack of cigarettes from his left front pocket and threw it on the passenger floor board, according to the citation.

Officers suspected methamphetamine was in the wrapper of the cigarettes.

After searching White, a glass pipe was located with suspected methamphetamine residue.

Officers also located a small folded piece of paper with suspected methamphetamine in his right front change pocket.

White was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for methamphetamine

Gregory L. Smith, 52, of 212 Twin Acres Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested July 28 for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

While patrolling the above listed area, officers observed Smith in the driveway and reportedly knew there was a warrant out for his arrest. Officers confirmed the warrant, contacted Smith and placed him under arrest, according to the citation.

Located on Smith was a zipper bag which allegedly contained a clear substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

Also located on Smith were several white rectangular pills labeled Xanax.

Smith was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

­— Isaac Barnett, 56, of the Jessamine County Detention center, was arrested July 24 for failure to appear.

­— Jeffrey S. Frye, 33, of 144 Garbett Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested July 24 for second-degree burglary.

­— David Maxburry, 40, of 1927 Raliegh Road in Lexington, was arrested July 24 for failure to appear and failure to pay.

­— Steven Combs, 33, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested on July 24 for failure to comply with sex offender registration.

­— Cameron Mover, 29, of 114 Westwood Drive in Lexington, was arrested July 24 for violation of conditions of release.

­— Stephen Mcpueen, 24, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested July 24 for a parole violation.

­— Bernice Adams, 29, of 51 W. Thompson St. in Jackson, was arrested July 24 for a probation violation.

­— Joshua Thomas Lancaster, 28, of 110 Liberty St. in Nicholasville, was arrested July 24 for a probation violation.

­— Phillip A. Hall, 43, of 109 Redbud Court in Nicholasville, was arrested July 24 for failure to appear.

­— Robin A. Hyden, 45, of 208 Southpoint Drive in Lexington, was arrested July 24 for DUI.

­— Christina Salzman, 35, of 102 Rabbit Trail in Wilmore, was arrested July 29 for DUI, suspended license, expired registration and failure to produce insurance card.

­— Anthony Lee Houp, 45, of 125 Brown St. in Nicholasville, was arrested July 29 for operating on a suspended or revoked license, a probation violation and a Fayette County warrant.

­— Eric S. Kirkbride, 38, homeless, was arrested July 29 for giving officer false identifying information.

­— Hershell O. Smith, 47, of 109 Ash Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested July 29 for a probation violation and non-payment of court costs.

­— Gregory Allan Estes, 59, of 210 Laurel Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested July 29 for DUI.

­— Joshua C. Prather, 25, of 24 New Haven Road in Lancaster, was arrested July 29 for violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order.

­— Alexander Cole Baker, 18, of 113 Independence Court in Danville, was arrested July 29 for DUI and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

­— Larry Dewayne Sunrise, 28, of 43 Robin Lane in Bedford, was arrested July 30 for menacing.
