Nicholasville grads among Centre College Alumni

DANVILLE — Nicholasville residents recently graduated from Centre College in Danville during the 195th Commencement ceremony held on campus, May 20.

Founded in 1819, Centre College located in Danville is a United States News top-50 national liberal arts college, and has been named one of Forbes’ top-15 colleges/universities in the south for seven years in a row.

Michael Greathouse graduated with a bachelor of science degree in economics and finance. Greathouse is the son of Cynthia Greathouse and Allen Greathouse, both of Nicholasville, and is a graduate of Lexington Catholic High School.

Lindsey Howland graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English. Howland is the daughter of Meagan and Matthew Howland of Nicholasville and is a graduate of home school.

William Lancaster graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in international studies. Lancaster is the son of Ann and William Lancaster of Nicholasville and is a graduate of Lexington Christian Academy.

Ellen Ray graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English. Ray is the daughter of Dona and Elbert Ray of Nicholasville and is a graduate of Sayre School.

Adam Riekert graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in international studies. Riekert is the son of Nan and Henry Riekert of Nicholasville and is a graduate of East Jessamine High School.

The commencement address was delivered by Robert M. Franklin Jr., president emeritus of Morehouse College and professor of moral leadership at Emory University, who urged the record 330 graduates to “befriend America’s highest ideals.”
