East Jessamine students continue athletic careers in college at U of Cumberlands, Midway

Mallory McKibben signed to play women’s soccer at the University of the Cumberlands.

“She wanted to continue playing because she realized how much she missed it after senior night this year,” East Jessamine High School Athletic Director Charlie Owens said. “She picked Cumberlands because it a small, faith-based school where she believes she can go to reach her ultimate potential as a player and student.”

Also, Zach Taylor signed to wrestle with Midway University.

“He wanted to continue to wrestle after high school because it’s great to bond with teammates and go through the grind with them everyday,” Owens said. “Zach is going to have the honor of being on the first team for East Jessamine and the first team for Midway University. He will be the second wrestler in EJHS history to sign to wrestle in college. Zach plans to major in nursing at Midway.”
