Jay Webb announced his candidacy for Jessamine County Coroner in 2018.

Webb is a graduate of Jessamine County High School and served over 25 years as a firefighter/EMT with the Lexington Fire Department before his retirement. He is married to the former Jane Lynn Foster, and together the couple has two children Jacob and Jordan, along with two grandchildren, Brady and Brock.

During his time serving in Lexington, Webb achieved many levels of specialized training and certifications which include level two fire and EMS instructor, command and control scene fatalities through the National Highway Safety Administration, emergency scene manager through National Fire Academy, incident investigator/commander through Federal Emergency Management Agency and multiple certifications which can be accessed on his candidacy Facebook page.

“I also have the experience in ‘life and death’ situations that would be needed to fill this position from my 25 plus years as a Firefighter/EMT,” Webb said.

Webb is a licensed and ordained minister,and currently serves in that role at Little Hickman Christian Church. He is also involved with the Jessamine County Detention Center and Jessamine County Little League Baseball.
