Man arrested for stolen property, possession of heroin

Zachary David George, 27, of 3980 Union Mill Road in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 25 for possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified) and receiving stolen property in the amount of $10,00
0 or more, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to Five Star on Main Street in reference to a male subject allegedly slouched over the steering wheel asleep.

Upon running the registration of the vehicle, officers were able to confirm that the vehicle was stolen, according to the citation.

George was placed under arrest for allegedly being in control of a stolen vehicle. Upon a search, jail staff located in George’s wallet an unknown substance that was alleged to be heroin, according to the citation.

Alleghany man arrested for second-degree assault

Clinton Gross III, 38, of 1035 Pinoak Drive in Alleghany, was arrested Jan. 22 for assault in the second degree, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to 506 Laurel Lane in reference to a fight in progress and were advised Gross had been cut with a knife.


Upon arrival, officers observed two men laying on the ground wrestling, the victim was on top of Gross and the knife was beside them on the ground. Officers separated the two individuals and detained Gross, according to the citation.

Both individuals had lacerations to their hands, head and arms. Through the investigation, it was found Gross was the primary aggressor and drove to the victims house to confront him about money. Gross then allegedly cut the victim on the back of the head, ear, back and hands with a fixed-handle, curved knife, according to the citation.

EMS treated the individuals and both refused to be transported to the hospital. Gross was then placed under arrest and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested on marijuana, fleeing charges

A Nicholasville man was arrested on Jan. 25 for possession of marijuana and fleeing or evading police, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Ricky Harper, 25, of 723 E. Chestnut St., was observed operating a vehicle which was parked in the Auto Zone parking lot. Knowing that Harper had numerous open warrants, the officer observed Harper exit the vehicle and get in on the passenger side of the vehicle.


Upon making contact with Harper, the officer advised him of his warrants and informed him that he was under arrest, according to the citation.

At this time, Harper allegedly advised the officer that he was not Ricky Harper and took off running while the officer proceeded to chase and yell after him to stop.

Officers apprehended Harper behind Strawberry Court, and deployed K9 Benton, who alerted the officers to the vehicle which was then searched, according to the citation. Search results allegedly produced one gram of marijuana.

Harper was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Wilmore resident arrested for DUI and drug paraphernalia

Daniel L. Durham, 56, of 208 South Walnut Street in Wilmore, was arrested Jan. 26 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers responded to North Central and Richmond avenues in reference to a reckless driver who had  allegedly crossed the center line a dozen times nearly colliding with oncoming traffic, according to the citation. Officers
were also advised that the vehicle had allegedly nearly struck a student walking from East Jessamine High School.

While conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle, Durham was allegedly fumbling with requested documents and interrupted the officer allegedly claiming, “I know what I did.”

Durham was then asked to conduct a field sobriety test which he failed, according to the citation.

Durham was asked if a search of his vehicle would reveal any drugs or paraphernalia and advised officers that a syringe was in the driver side door. Officers recovered two syringes from the vehicle, according to the citation.

Durham allegedly advised officers that  he had shot up Percocet earlier. He was transported to St. Joseph Jessamine where he submitted to a Kentucky State Police blood test and was later transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for DUI, reckless driving

A Nicholasville man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and reckless driving, according to a citation issued by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Department.

Jacob C. Carter, 32, of 109 Shun Pike,  was observed traveling outbound on Wilmore Road near Fifth Street going 58 MPH in the opposite lane of traffic, almost colliding with the arresting deputy’s vehicle.

The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, although had to chase it until Hawthorne Drive at Loan Oak Drive, according to the citation.

Once detained, the officer allegedly could detect an odor of alcohol coming from the cab of the vehicle. Carter showed six clues on a field sobriety test and refused a breath test, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for DUI after near-crash at Brannon Crossing

A Nicholasville man was arrested Jan. 26 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol,
according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Liam P. Shirey, 39, of 400 John Sutherland Drive, was allegedly witnessed operating a motor vehicle and nearly side swiping his vehicle with another vehicle on US 27 at the Brannon Crossing intersection. Upon arrival, officers said Shirey was unsteady on his feet, his body was swaying back and forth and he smelled like alcohol, according to the citation.

Shirey allegedly refused to take a field sobriety test and allegedly had difficulty answering questions. While standing next to the police cruiser, Shirey lost balance and fell to the ground, according to the citation.

Shirey was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center.

Upon request to sign the implied consent warning during the 20 minute observation period, Shirey allegedly licked the officer’s pen, according to the citation.

— Billy Watts, 62, of 3030 Lexington Road in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 22 for failure to appear.

— Billy Brandon Kennard, 30, address unknown, was arrested Jan. 22 for theft by unlawful taking or distribution shoplifting under $500.

— Jonathan C. Wells, 41, of 301 E. Ridge Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 22 for failure to appear.

— Joshua Lay, 27, of 108 Angule Trail in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 23 for failure to appear.

— James Ryan, 18, of 525 Holly Hill in Lexington, was arrested Jan. 23 for criminal mischief in the first degree and theft by unlawful taking or distribution shoplifting under $500.

— Missy Tucker, 45, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 23 for failure to appear.

— Joel Daniel Lawson, 30, of 316 Witchita Drive #47 in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 23 for a parole violation.

— Kaila Kidwell, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 24 or a parole violation.

— Kaylin Kelly, 18, of 412 Laurel Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 24 for a parole violation.

— Joshua Gamble, 25, of 174 North Mt. Taber Road in Lexington, was arrested Jan. 24 for harassment and violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order.

— Chafin Whitehouse, 30, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan 24 for failure to appear.

— Michael Trent, 19, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 24 for two counts of theft by unlawful taking of mail matter.

— Morris Gill, 28, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 24 for a first offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (heroin), first offense possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and persistent felony offender.

— Melanie Burton, 28, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 24 for theft by unlawful taking or distribution shoplifting under $500, possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting contraband in the first degree.

— Christopher Wayne Bottoms, 39, of 128 Rob Roy in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 24 for a first and second offense of alcohol intoxication in a public place.

— Heather Bush, 24, of 448 Corman Road in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 24 for a parole violation.

— Derek D. Hughes, 52, of 1241 Village Drive  No. 29 in Lexington, was arrested Jan. 25 for failure to appear.

— Jodie L. Uhlig, 34, of 107 Lincoln Heights in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 25 for failure to pay.

— Eddie Jones, 21, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 25 for fleeing or evading police in the first degree, wanton endangerment in the first degree, operating on a suspended or revoked license and persistent felony offender.

— Shawn Nevius, 29, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 25 for tampering with physical evidence and a first offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree.

— Christy Duh, 33, of the Jessamine County Detention Center, was arrested Jan. 25 for receiving stolen property under $10,000, a first offense of a possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

— David W. Browning, 49, of 315 Edgewood Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 25 for alcohol intoxication in a public place.

— Christopher L. Pelfrey, 30, of 112 Heritage Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 26 for failure to appear and receiving stolen property under $500.

— Gabriel Clouse, 37, of 101 Jessamine Ave., was arrested Jan. 26 for a parole violation.

— Amanda Woods, 35, of 111 East Brown Street in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 26 for failure to appear and contempt.

— Tyler Patrick Foster, 24, of 3089 Majestic View Walk in Lexington, was arrested Jan. 27 for failure to appear.

— Tracy Neal Davis, 45, of 321 ½ East Main Street in Wilmore, was arrested Jan. 27 for contempt.

— James Carloss, 55, address unknown, was arrested Jan. 27 for alcohol intoxication in a public place.

— Hayley L. Denham, 26, of 300 Edgewood Drive #6 in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 27 for failure to appear.

— William E. Houp, 29, of 158 Shannon Parkway in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 28 for a probation violation.

— Shelby Lee White, 23, of 712 Williams Road in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 28 for failure to appear.

— Jason M. Hammons, 35, of 402 Broadway Street in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 28 for non-payment of fines.
