Lending a hand to those in need

Asbury University students have helped in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and offered damage relief after tornados ripped through Alabama. Recently, students traveled to Texas and Tennessee to help rebuild communities in need.

“Oftentimes, when disaster strikes, thousands of volunteers rush to help,” said Brad Johnson, assistant vice president of marketing and communications for the university. “What many don’t realize is that months after the disaster, after the cameras and initial responders are gone, there is still a great need. That’s often when Asbury students come to make a difference.”
