Jessamine County Health Department Restaurant Inspections

—  McDonalds at 100 Hendren Way in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 31 2017, and scored 90. Notes: floor unclean under and behind equipment, drain clogged on three-compartment sink, shelves under the microwave unclean, paper towels not installed in wall dispenser in the kitchen, mildew inside the ice machine, water pooled on the floor in walk-in cooler and in storage room, beverage machine unclean around dispenser nozzle at drive thru and excessive number of flies in dining area. Follow-up inspection took place on Sept. 7, 2017, and the score was changed to 94. Notes: new placard needed.

— Pizza Hut at 521 N. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 7, 2017, and scored 96. Notes: no towels in dispensers (towels ordered), floor unclean in prep areas and trim missing on wall corners.

—  J’s Place at 101 S. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 7, 2017, and scored 95. Notes: soap dispenser broken at hand sink in prep area; no towels for dispenser at hand sink prep area; stir sticks not dispensed properly; excessive grooves in cutting board on prep cooler; wall not painted or stained to prevent moisture; sink, toilet and urinal in men’s restroom unclean and men’s restroom door not self-closing.

— Bellaire Creative Christian Academy at 616 Keene Centre in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 7, 2017, and scored 100.

— Los Tres Amigos at 107 Edgewood Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 7, 2017, and scored 93. Notes: sink unclean in men’s restroom, towels not in dispenser and wet, no soap or towels in bar area, microwave unclean inside and handle broken, door gaskets unclean and in poor condition on coolers, water leak under sink in bar, chorizo meat stored in water and ice.

— Kroger at 170 Bellerive Blvd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 13, 2017, and scored 95. Notes: Dishwasher leaking with lots of accumulation; coolers, shelves exterior or equipment and dishwasher need cleaning; floors in three-compartment sink have accumulation, possibly blocked floor drain; floors behind and under equipment have debris and walls in three-compartment sink have accumulation.

— Jessamine Adult Day Health at 111 Hoover Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 14, 2017, and scored 96. Notes: cabinet shelves unclean, microwave unclean inside, sink unclean in men’s restroom, faucets corroded in restrooms and floor unclean in women’s restroom.

— Fiesta Mexico at 801 S. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 14, 2017, and scored 92. Notes: water pooled on floor near back door, cooler and freezer unclean inside, light shield missing above prep cooler, food not covered in walk-in cooler, wood shelving in poor condition, bag of beverage syrup on floor in water, floor unclean under serving window and shelves and no towels in dispenser at hand sink in beverage area.

— El Potrillo at 1073 N. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 14, 2017, and scored 94. Notes: faucet leak on three-compartment sink, two lights not working in kitchen, wall in poor condition next to hand sink, faucet on hand sink in poor condition, bare wood used as storage surface and light out in prep area and storage area.

— Kentucky Fried Chicken at 900 N. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 14, 2017, and scored 97. Notes: floor unclean in dining area and tables unclean in dining area.

— West Jessamine High School Cafeteria at 2101 Wilmore Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 18, 2017, and scored 99. Notes: wall behind mop sink in poor condition.

— The West Jessamine High School concession stand in block building in the endzone was inspected on Sept. 18, 2017, and scored 91. Notes: Tons of ants on counter by popcorn and in the box with bags of chips – need to store food in rubbermaid type containers with lids; empty water out of warming pans after game and set up three buckets or pans to wash, rinse and sanitize utensils and dishes.

— West Jessamine High School Football concessions at 2101 Wilmore Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 18, 2017, and scored 100.

— West Jessamine High School volleyball and basketball concessions at 2101 Wilmore Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 18, 2017, and scored 98. Notes: ice scoop needs to stay in the ice scoop holder.

— East Jessamine High School Cafeteria at 815 Sulphur Well Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 20, 2017, and scored 97. Notes: three ceiling tiles are water-stained and the dumpster was open.

— The Brookside Elementary School at 199 Brookside Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 20, 2017, and scored 100.

— Fitch’s IGA at 102 Main St. in Wilmore was inspected on Sept. 21, 2017, and scored 98 for food service and 98 for retail. Notes: coolers and freezers unclean on the inside, no towels at the meat dept. hand sink, hand sink unclean in produce dept., produce prep sink unclean and shelves dusty throughout the store.

— Taco Bell at 1011 N. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 21, 2017, and scored 99. Notes: doors and handles on coolers and freezers unclean.

— Speedway 8129 at 415 N. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 21, 2017, and scored 99 for food service and 100 for retail. Notes: water leak under kitchen hand sink.

— The Francis Asbury Society at 1580 Lexington Rd. in Wilmore was inspected on Sept. 21, 2017, and scored 100.

— Kroger at 200 E. Brannon Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 21, 2017, and scored 97 for food service and 98 for retail. Notes: thermometers needed in the produce center cooling units and others as needed, soap and paper towels required at all hand sinks and food handler cards needed on all deli employees and bakery.

— ASC Sushi at 220 E. Brannon Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 27, 2017, and scored 100.

— Daylight Donuts at 1020 N. Main in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 28, 2017, and scored 100.

— Speedway at 979 N. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 28, 2017, and scored 98 for food service and 98 for retail. Notes: cabinet shelves unclean in food and beverage area, small black cooler unclean inside, beverage syrup on floor under syrup rack, water on floor under freezer, floor unclean under equipment and shelves in storage room and lights not shielded in food storage areas.

— Applebee’s at 113 N. Plaza Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Sept. 28, 2017, thermometers not located in coolers and freezers, storage shelves unclean and in poor condition and floor tiles missing and in poor condition in kitchen.
