Have you ever wondered how much value Kentucky Extension Homemakers provide to our state? In volunteer hours alone, the benefit to Kentucky is in excess of $20 million.

This does not include the countless services that homemakers provide in helping others learn life skills, monetary and in-kind donations to schools and other community organizations and the benefit of the knowledge that they share in relation to leadership and community development!

Next week, Oct. 8-14, is Kentucky Extension Homemakers Week.

In Jessamine County, we have an active Extension Homemakers Association that provides scholarships to high school students, supports local charities and nonprofits through both monetary donations and volunteerism and much more. Jessamine County Extension Homemakers are also very passionate towards supporting the University of Kentucky Ovarian Cancer Research Program, which over the past 40 years has donated $1.4 million as a state chapter.

If you would like to be a part of something that gives back to the community while also having fun doing so, consider joining the Jessamine County Extension Homemakers.
