THURSDAY

— The next meting of the Jessamine County Historical Society is 7 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 28 at their office, 213 W. Main St. in Nicholasville. Speaker will be Peter Brackney and his subject is the history of the U.S. Constitution. His talk has been very well received by all who have heard it, and all are welcome. —The Wilmore Family Center will host Night Owls Time! every Thursday at 6:15 p.m. Working families have a playgroup with topics and presentations geared toward your busy lifestyle needs. Bring takeout or brown bag and kids of all ages. The Family Center is located on 334 E. Main in Wilmore. Donations are suggested.

FRIDAY

– The KCAL Old Time Radio Troupe will present its highly-anticipated “Halloween Fright Night” old-time radio show reproduction on Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 1 at 2:30 p.m.

SATURDAY

— Hope Over Jessamine Fall Fest will occur on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the City/County Park Fairgrounds.

– The Creative Art League of Jessamine County welcomes all area walkers and runners to take part in the Race For The Arts 5K run/one mile walk through downtown Nicholasville! All proceeds from the event will benefit the Creative Art League of Jessamine County, Inc., and the first 200 registrants will receive a signed and numbered limited-edition print. —The Wilmore Farmers’ Market opens from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Wilmore City Hall parking lot in downtown Wilmore through October.

— The Bluegrass Ironmen a nonprofit Men’s Ministry, meets every Saturday morning at 203 Oak Street (behind CVS Pharmacy) in Nicholasville for a hot breakfast. The breakfast cost is $3 during the summer and the regular cost during fall and spring is $5, and if it your first time it is free. Those who would like to come and cannot afford the cost it is free also. We have a speaker that usually takes about a half an hour and then we have table discussions on the speaker’s topic.

— On the second Saturday of every month. The Family Center in Wilmore will host Bellies and Beyond: Birth Plans at 10 a.m. The program will help mothers with pregnancy and the first year. This month, join Chante Perryman of Baby Dreams Maternity Concierge and devise a plan according to your wishes and needs. As a certified doula and mother, she has a wealth of experience and knowledge in all kinds of births. Donation suggested.

—The Wilmore Family Center will host Single Parent Power! at 5 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. Donations are suggested to cover meal costs. Meetings are laid back and have lots of time for eating and talking while kids of all ages have something to do!

MONDAY

— The Jessamine County Farmers Market will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. from July 3 to October 23 at the Jessamine County Senior Citizen Center in the parking lot located at Hover Drive in Nicholasville.

— The Jessamine County Fire District Board of Trustees will meet at 4:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the Jessamine County Fire District Station 1 located at 1310 S. Main Street in Nicholasville.

—The Wilmore Family Center will host Crunch Time! Lunch and Learn at 11 a.m. Join other natural parents like you, looking for advice and support for sleep patterns where attachment is valued. Parents of newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers welcome. Free for members, but suggested $3 donation suggested per family.

—The Wilmore Family Center will host Preschool Time!, a skill-based play group helping families engage in a little edu-fun every Monday at 9:30 a.m. Our morning morning meeting allows parents to help their children (ages 3 to 6) with early literacy, math, and science both gross and fine motor skills. Giving them ideas to try at home. Free for members, but $3 donation per family suggested.

TUESDAY

— The Nicholasville Toastmasters meet from 7 to 8 p.m. on each Tuesday at the Jessamine County Public Library. Master the art of public speaking. Nicholasville Toastmasters is a diverse group of individuals dedicated to supporting members in becoming a confident speaker and leader.

—Al-Anon’s Saturday morning meetings in Nicholasville are now cancelled. A new Al-Anon meeting using the same Al-Anon 12-Step program will be hosted in Wilmore at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays each week at the Wilmore United Methodist Church located at 209 E. Main Street, in Wilmore. Al-Anon meetings are for those troubled by another’s alcohol use, or substance abuse. —American Legion Post No. 63, Jessamine Senior Citizens Center, 111 Hoover Drive, meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. For more information, email: dathor1@email.uky.edu.

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts scrapbooking with Sharon Campbell every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

—Jessamine County Piece Quilters will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday for the months of June, July and August at Nicholasville Christian Church. —The Wilmore Senior Community Center will host Scrapbooking with Sharon Campbell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

—The Wilmore Family Center will host Redirecting Children’s Behavior from at 6p.m. Try it and See! Join our nationally-known parenting class series for FREE, one night only. See the benefits to your family and sign up for the series.

WEDNESDAY

—The Wilmore Family Center will host Play Time! every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Everyone is welcome to drop in our play area. September’s theme is First Responders. Free for members, but donations are suggested.

— On Saturday, Oct. 14, the Kentucky Reptile Zoo Halloween Ssssspooktacular from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kentucky Reptile Zoo, located at 200 L&E Railroad Place in Slade.
