— Waffle House at 1034 N. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 2, 2017 and scored 99. Notes: cabinets where trash cans are stored unclean.

— Keene Run Golf Club at 5600 Harrodsburg Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 2, 2017 and scored 99. Notes: interior of ice machine unclean, equipment storage tables in basement unclean and beverage dispenser gun in bar area unclean.

— Champion Trace at 20 Avenue of Champions in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 2, 2017 and scored 93. Notes: shelf on prep table rusty, storage shelves unclean under prep counter, raw beef patties stored above tortilla chips in cooler, food stored on floor in walk-in freezer, light bulbs not shielded in walk-in cooler or freezer, floor unclean in walk-in cooler, interior of ice machine unclean, beverage coolers unclean on interior in bar area and no sanitizer test strips for chlorine and steramine sanitizer.

Notes: storage shelves under counter unclean, interior of microwave unclean, boxes of food on floor in freezer, floor unclean under cooking area and in storage rooms, boxes of beverage cups on floor in storage room, floor under food storage unclean in walk-in cooler, men’s restroom unclean—toilet, urinals and floor and interior of cabinets in beverage machine area unclean.

— Subway at 109 Springdale Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 9, 2017 and scored 98. Note: personal items on prep surface.

— Great Wall at 104 E. Main St. in Wilmore was inspected on Aug. 10, 2017 and scored 94. Notes: cardboard used on storage surfaces, bowls without handles used as food scoops, wiping cloths not in sanitizer water, foods stored uncovered in walk-in cooler and foods on the floor in walk-in freezer.

The Wilmore Daycare Center at 190 Spring St. in Wilmore was inspected on Aug. 10, 2017 and scored 94. Notes: plumbing leak under three-compartment sink, lights out in the kitchen, dumpster lids open and thermometers needed for coolers and freezers.

— Thompson Hood Veterans Center at 100 Veterans Dr. in Wilmore was inspected on Aug. 10, 2017 and scored 100.

— Children’s Creative Campus at 700 S. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 11, 2017 and scored 100. Notes: exterior door has a small gap at the bottom.

— Kid’s Connection at 310 Southview Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 11, 2017 and scored 100.

— Academy of Great Beginnings at 101 Depot St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 14, 2017 and scored 98. Notes: refrigerator temperature must be 41 degrees Fahrenheit or cooler (temperature adjusted during inspection).

— Childcare Network #257 at 1101 Lauderdale Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 15, 2017 and scored 98. Notes: sanitizer test strips needed.

— Bruster’s Ice Cream at 111 N. Plaza Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 15, 2017 and scored 98. Notes: duct tape not allowed for fixing a seal on the freezer, water fountain plumbing broken and water is collecting in an open pipe and floor in need of more frequent cleaning under equipment in corner.

— Sonny’s BBQ at 109 N. Plaza Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 16, 2017 and scored 89 for food service and 95 for retail. Notes: dumpster lid missing (repeat violation), salad bar temperature not cool enough and coil to be cleaned, ceiling vents in poor condition, can opener blade in need of more frequent cleaning, sanitizer not working at dishwasher (corrected at on-the-spot follow-up) and spoon should not be stored in powdered sugar (corrected at on-the-spot follow-up).

— European Food Mart at 221 Lexington Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 16, 2017 and scored 98. Notes: food stored on floor in second storage room— increased storage needs have created a need for more shelving and flooring (not carpet) in storage room.

— UK Extension Office at 95 Park Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 17, 2017 and scored 100.

— A Child’s Place at 107 Brookside Dr. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 17, 2017 and scored 97. Notes: dumpster side doors open, debris on the ground around dumpster needs to be cleaned up, freezer/refrigerator seal in need of cleaning.

— European Delight at 221 E. Brannon Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 17, 2017 and scored 96. Notes: food in bag on floor in walk-in cooler, floor unclean in walk-in freezer, box of cup lids on the floor, storage shelves dusty and coffee stirs not dispensed properly.

— Bethel Early Learning at 3260 Lexington Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 17, 2017 and scored 98. Notes: interior of freezer and refrigerator unclean and floor unclean around mop sink.

— Joy Food at 258 E. Brannon Rd. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 17, 2017 and scored 94. Notes: no sanitizer detected in wiping cloth bucket, cardboard on shelves as storage surface, foods uncovered in walk-in cooler, bowls without handles used a food scoops.

— Bridgepointe at 5220 Grey Oak Ln. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 17, 2017 and scored 98. Notes: no sanitizer detected in wiping cloth buckets and floor unclean in walk-in freezer.

— Penn’s Station at 112 Blueberry Ln. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 17, 2017 and scored 97. Notes: open box of sugar on the shelf and no sanitizer test strips for use with chlorine.

— Prime Star 7 at 980 S. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 21, 2017 and scored 97. Notes: inner rim of ice machine was dirty and mops and brooms need to be stored off the floor.

— Nicholasville United Methodist Church at 303 W. Maple St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 29, 2017 and scored 100. Note: remember to hang brooms when not in use.

— Domino’s at 8005 S. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 30, 2017 and scored 96. Notes: hand sink leaking and needs paper towels (corrected during inspection), outer opening not protected in side exterior door—flies present and adding hooks for hanging the broom in a more convenient spot was suggested.

— Rose Terrace at 401 N. 2nd St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 31, 2017 and scored 100.

— Save-A-Lot at 701 Edgewood in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 31, 2017 and scored 92. Notes: shelves and food product unclean in Mexican food section (aisle 2), thermometers not located in multiple coolers and freezers; ceiling tiles with water damage near restroom and storage area entrance; no towels in men’s restroom and sink and toilet unclean; light out in meat-cutting room and ice condensate on ceiling, floor and food in walk-in freezer.

— Kroger at 995 S. Main St. in Nicholasville was inspected on Aug. 31, 2017 and scored 97 in food service and 99 in retail. Notes: floor unclean under equipment in bakery, food carts and prep shelves unclean in bakery, tape used to secure glass on warmer unit in deli, wall in poor condition by three-compartment sink in meat/seafood department and hole in the wall in meat-cutting room.
