A mother and daughter both became United States Citizens within days of each other. 

Ana Saldias from Peru passed the U.S. citizen civics test on Friday, June 16. A celebration was hosted for Ana at the Jessamine County Adult Education Center on Thursday.

Hours within Ana cutting her congratulations cake, her daughter, Lorena Serrano Saldias, also passed the test. Ana shared her excitement and cake with friends, mentors and U.S. Representative for District 39 Russ Meyer.
