Asbury University will bring Platinum-selling, multiple Dove Award-winning, and Oscar-winning artists to Wilmore during the Asbury Concert Series taking place May 31–June 8. The concerts are free to the public, however, seating is capped so early ticket reservation is advised.

In partnership with Mike Atkins Entertainment, Lucid Artist Management and Integrity Music, the Asbury Concert Series will feature artists Bluetree (best known for “God of This City”), Mark Schultz, Veritas, MARi, comedian Anita Renfroe and many others. The Asbury Concert Series will cover a range of styles, from hip-hop to Christian worship, and will also feature multi-talented entertainers during a comedy performance. The series is an outstanding opportunity for music lovers throughout Central Kentucky to enjoy great performances in the remarkable setting of Asbury’s Miller Studio (a part of the $12.6-million Center for Communication Arts).

“The Asbury Concert Series is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a live music experience,” said Heather Hornbeak, a professor in Asbury’s School of Communication Arts. “This event features amazing artists, and we look forward to sharing their talent with the community.”

In addition to bringing high caliber musicians to Wilmore, the Asbury Concert Series also provides valuable experience for Asbury Communication Arts students. Media Communication students will produce professional-level audio and video, and Public Relations students will earn experience promoting and managing a complex event.

“This experience is an excellent resume line for students,” Hornbeak said. “Students are producing professional audio and video products, as well as learning to be artist liaisons. It’s a multi-dimensional experience that will serve students well in their careers.”
