—Nicholasville Christian Church will host a drama “Women at the Cross” for Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 with communion served after. The church is located at 104 S Second St.

—Edgewood Baptist Church will host JCMA Holy Week Services at 12 p.m. on April 10 through 14.

—Edgewood Baptist Church will host Maundy Thursday Service at 5:30 p.m. on April 13. This service will include a meal, worship and Lord’s Supper.

—St. Athanasius will host Mystical Supper Liturgy at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 13. The supper will be followed by a soup and salad meal.

—St. Athanasius will host Matins with 12 Passions Gospel Readings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13.

—St. Athanasius will host Royal Hours for the Passion at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 14. The event will be followed by decoration of the Lord’s Tomb.

—St. Athanasius will host Vespers of the Lord’s Entombment at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 14.

—St. Athanasius will host Matins with Praises and Funereal Procession at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 14. the event will be followed by and all-night reading of Psalter at tomb.

—Bethel Harvest Church will host Community Springfest from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 15. There will be plenty of free activities throughout the afternoon, including Easter Egg hunts for various age groups. Ages 0 to 3 years will begin at 1 p.m; 4 to 7 years will be at 2 p.m. and 8 to 11 years will begin at 3 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring one canned good for admission into the event. All donated canned goods will go toward the Bethel Harvest food bank.

—St. Athanasius will host Liturgy for Holy Saturday at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 15. The event will be followed by a special meal of bread and wine.

—St. Athanasius will host Paschal Service from 11:30 p.m. until around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15.

—St. Athanasius will host Paschal Vespers & Picnic at Highbridge Park at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 15.

—Edgewood Baptist Church will host an Easter Celebration Service at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 16. Donuts, coffee and juice will be provided. Sunday Morning Bible Study at 9:15 a.m. and Morning Worship will be at 10:30 a.m. with special music by the Sanctuary Choir. No Evening Worship.

—New Hope Fellowship located on 1451 S. Main Street in Nicholasville will host the 2017 Women’s retreat with sister Vonda Bishop at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 For more information, call 859-806-4821. Registration will be at 6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday, no charge. 

—Edgewood Baptist Church will host a Power Revival on April 29 and 30.

—First Assembly of God, as well as other churches in the community, has joined a group called “Intercessors for America.” The purpose of the group is to pray for God’s divine guidance for the leaders of federal, state, counties and cities. The “Intercessors of America will meet on the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the Jessamine County Courthouse lawn beginning in April and through the warmer weather. —A prayer meeting will be hosted every Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. at Sonlight Fellowship Church of God at 216 E. Oak St. Everyone is welcome.

—Women’s Bible study will meet Thursday mornings from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Nicholasville Salvation Army, located at 205 South 1st Street. —Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church, 100 Lime Lane, offers free bread to families and individuals in need in the Nicholasville area. Saint Athanasius distributes this bread, supplied by Panera Bread, every Sunday from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.

—Providence Christian Church, 101 Providence Way, hosts a “Bodies in Motion” low-impact exercise class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.

—Walking With Love’s Laundry Love ministry is offered every third Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Laundry, 630 Edgewood Drive. Households of up to four people can do a double load of laundry for free; households of more than four people can do a triple-load of laundry for free. Anyone can use the service, but each household is limited to using it once every three months. An I.D. will be requested in order to track how often households are using the service.

—Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 12 to 2 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

—Free meal offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday at 303 W. Maple Street in the Community Center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The meal is a restaurant-quality hot, nutritionally balanced meal. Take out meals are also available, one meal per person. The meal is funded by freewill donations from churches, businesses, and residents of Jessamine Co. No one is ever asked to pay. Volunteers are always welcome.
