One local non-profit organization is matching gifts for the holiday season.

Every gift made to Hospice of the Bluegrass — up to $30,000  — and designated to the Jessamine County Matching Gift Campaign, will be matched and used to serve patients and their families in Jessamine County, according to a press release from Hospice of the Bluegrass.

The Jessamine County Hospice Charities Board has donated $30,000 to be used for matching gifts.

Donations of $5, $25, $100 or even more, will be matched dollar for dollar, according to the release.

The non-profit serves 32 counties with a team of physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, aides and volunteers who provide medical, spiritual, emotional and personal care to patients.

Donations can be made year round, but they will no longer be matched after December 31.

“It makes you feel like your money is going twice as far,” Director of Hospice of the Bluegrass Kim Livesay said. “We want to make everyday the best it can be, and let the families spend time with each other.”
