THURSDAY

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts a creative-writing class with Carolyn Barnum every Thursday beginning at 1 p.m.

— Wilmore Senior Community Center will host a Bible Study (First John) with new Wilmore UMC Pastor D. Merricks, beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursdays.

—Wilmore TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) weight-loss support group meets Thursdays in the community room at Jessamine Village, at the end of South Maple Street in Wilmore. New members are welcome. Contact Eva Jacobs at (859) 858-3456.

—Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday.

FRIDAY

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts Flex Exercise with Aureol Moore every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 a.m.

SATURDAY

—First Vineyard will be hosting Christmas in the Country Community Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 at First Vineyard. There will be 20 Kentucky Proud Vendors with a variety of merchandise. Support the community and shop local on Small Business Saturday.

—The Wilmore Farmers Market is taking place Saturdays at the city hall parking lot in downtown Wilmore. Hours are 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Find the Wilmore Farmers Market page on Facebook for more information.

MONDAY

—Circle of Giving Wreath Display will be at the Jessamine County Courthouse on Nov. 28 through Dec. 2. Donated wreaths can be viewed and then bid on. The donations go to support charities within the county. For more information contact Kelly Woolums in Judge West’s office, 859-885-4500.

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host “The Blue Planet: Seas of Life!” (50 min. each) beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Mondays, November 14, 21, & 28. Another follow up to the monumental “Planet Earth” series – narrated again by David Attenborough. Free and open to the public.

—The joint meetings of the Jessamine County Democratic Executive Committee and the Jessamine County Democratic Woman’s Club are hosted the second Monday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Fiscal Courtroom of the Jessamine County Courthouse.  Everyone welcome! —The Salvation Army, Jessamine County Service Center, is taking applications for holiday assistance  from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday this week. The applications include Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner as well as the Angel Tree Program for children. Applications can be found at 205 South First Street in Nicholasville. TUESDAY

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Family Storytime, from 7 to 8 p.m., its designed for families with children 0 to 5 years old.

—Jessamine Co Public Library welcomes Tweens for InbeTWEEN Maker Day at 7 p.m, for 4th through 7th graders for a monthly program to explore fun technology and being with other tweens in the library.

—American Legion Post No. 63, Jessamine Senior Citizens Center, 111 Hoover Drive, meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. For more information email dathor1@email.uky.edu.

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts scrapbooking with Sharon Campbell every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

—Jessamine Piecequilters will meet on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. The group meets at Nicholasville Christian Church. Beginning and advanced quilters are welcome. For more information, call (859) 881-1854.

—Community Theatrical Workshop for 2nd thru 8th graders will be held from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. at the Jessamine County Public Library on these dates: Nov. 22, Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. —Jessamine County Public Library will host Best Picture Movie Night from 6 to 8 p.m.. JCPL, invites you to enjoy an Academy Award winning film, a light dinner and dessert. Please register.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Exercise with Ease from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Preschool Storytime from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday,  November 30. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Books and Bites from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Color Craze from 6:30 p.m to 8 p.m. 

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host 2016 Heroes, Saints and Legends Celebration beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

—Christmas Tree Lighting on Courthouse Lawn will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 in downtown Nicholasville. Enjoy refreshments, music and a visit from Santa.

— A Christmas Holiday Market will be hosted at Mt. Freedom Baptist Church on 100 S. Lexington Avenue in Wilmore from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. The event is free to attend while browsing handmade and homemade crafts, jewelry, soaps, scarfs, clothing, lunch and much more.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Christmas Holiday Market from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. 

—Jessamine County Public Library, Day of Holiday Cheer, Dec. 4, 1 to 5 p.m., will be serving juice boxes and free animal crackers until supplies run out. Come meet Santa Claus and enjoy live music. Everyone is invited to search the library for hidden elves. Find them all and get entered to win a basket of family holiday goodies and stories.

—The Chamber of Commerce Christmas Open House, Tuesday, December 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 116 S. Main, Nicholasville.

—The third annual St. “Nich” Christmas Fest will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10 in downtown Nicholasville. Activities will include shopping at local businesses and eateries, a 5K run, music, dance, craft show, parade and of course Santa. An old fashioned trolley will be making its way though downtown to carry festival goers to designated spots.
