McConnell visits Nicholasville

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke to the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce, and members of the community, on Wednesday Oct. 26.
McConnell addressed the Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon at the RJ Corman Railroad Group in Nicholasville. He discussed issues of the Commonwealth and the nation,McConnell’s staff member, Stephanie Penn, said in an email to the Jessamine Journal.
“Congress aggressively focused on addressing the nation’s opioid epidemic,” Penn said. “In what really became a bipartisan effort — Congress passed and the president signed CARA, which will bolster treatment, recovery, and law enforcement’s tools to help those already suffering with addiction and will help prevent more senseless loss of life.”
