“For the past month, our department has investigated this incident,” Mike Cassidy with the Jessamine County Public Services said in a press release. “In conjunction with the Humane Society of the United States, we  have decided to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this act. Our investigation has not had any leads that would give our department reason to investigate further.”

Last month, the cat was found with its leg in a trap that is used to capture wildlife. The feline had surgery, and three of its toes were amputated due to the trap, which had been there for approximately 72 hours.

Though its missing three of it’s toes the Cassidy said the cat is alive and well.

Recently, the cat was taken into the care of Caring Hearts Feline Rescue and  named “Gold Finger.” Gold Finger is now looking to find his  permanent home and can be adopted by contacting Caring Hearts.

Due to the extensive amputation and the care needed for Gold Finger to recover, Jessamine County Animal Care and Control is seeking donations to help pay for the medical expenses, according to a press release.
