—Jessamine County Public Library will host a Virtual Field Trip: Music of the Big Band Era from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3.

— Jessamine County Public Library will host Tabletop Gaming from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 3. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Intro to JCPL Creative Space from 6 to 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3. 

—Nicholasville/Jessamine County Parks and Recreation is opening the Coolidge Building for walkers and public exercise from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Coolidge Building is at 499 E. Maple St. For more information, visit njcpr.org or call (859) 885-9787.

—A women’s Bible study will meet Thursdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army on 205 South 1st St. during the fall. All women are invited. The group will be reading and studying scriptures related to the life of the disciples of Jesus. The book, “Twelve Ordinary Men” by John MacArthur will be used as a supplement to the teaching. They will discuss a different disciple each week with an overview given Sept. 1. Bring your Bibles and learn together. No childcare is available. — The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts a creative-writing class with Carolyn Barnum every Thursday beginning at 1 p.m.

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host a Bible study (First John) with new Wilmore UMC Pastor D. Merricks, beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursdays. 

— Wilmore TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) weight-loss support group meets Thursdays in the community room at Jessamine Village, at the end of South Maple Street in Wilmore. New members are welcome. Contact Eva Jacobs at (859) 858-3456.

— Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday.

—In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Salvation Army will be collecting new or gently used bras for the homeless women in The Salvation Army’s homeless shelter and for women-in-need within the Lexington community. The bra drive will continue throughout the month of October.  Please bring all donated bras to The Bra Drive Bin located in The Salvation Army Administration Building. We are looking for both regular bras and sports bras for all sizes and body types; from pre-teen to plus size adult. 

FRIDAY

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Jump and Jive from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov.4. 

— Jessamine County Public Library will host Indian Corn Basket Decorations from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday Nov. 4.

— The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts Flex Exercise with Aureol Moore every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 a.m.

SATURDAY

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Project Art from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Mother and Daughter Bookclub from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.

—Humble Hearts Christmas Fund Raiser will be begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at The NewHope Fellowship Church on 1454 N. Main St. There will be gospel singing, a live auction, a silent auction and food. All money collected goes to buy Christmas gifts for children in need. 

— The Wilmore farmers market is now open and will take place Saturdays at the city hall parking lot in downtown Wilmore. Hours are 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Find the Wilmore Farmers Market page on Facebook for more information.

MONDAY

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host “The Blue Planet: Seas of Life!” (50 min. each) beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Mondays, November 7, 14, 21, & 28. Another follow up to the monumental “Planet Earth” series – narrated again by David Attenborough. Free & open to the public.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Mothergoose Storytime from 10 to 11:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7. 

—The joint meetings of the Jessamine County Democratic Executive Committee and the Jessamine County Democratic Woman’s Club are hosted the second Monday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the fiscal courtroom of the Jessamine County Court House.  Everyone welcome! —A Resilience Community Support Group for loved ones of individuals in addiction or in recovery, will be hosted from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 at the Jessamine Library. Four group facilitators, two resilience program graduates and two experienced ministers will form two teams. Those interested in becoming a participating member can contact Kelly Combs at (859) 619-9111.

— The Salvation Army, Jessamine County Service Center, is taking applications for holiday assistance  from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday this week and next week. The applications include Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner as well as the Angel Tree Program for children. Applications can be found at 205 South First Street in Nicholasville. TUESDAY

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host National Election Day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 8. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host a Teen Gaming Tournament: Madden 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8

—Yellow Wood Tutoring in Wilmore will host a open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8. The open house will allow community members to learn about tutoring options, after school art, computer programming courses, and other programs available for students in the community.

—American Legion Post No. 63, Jessamine Senior Citizens Center, 111 Hoover Drive, meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. For more information email dathor1@email.uky.edu.

— The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts scrapbooking with Sharon Campbell every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

—Jessamine Piecequilters will meet on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. The group meets at Nicholasville Christian Church. Beginning and advanced quilters are welcome. For more information, call (859) 881-1854.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Preschool Storytime from 10 to 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Exercise with Ease from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Felted Gingerbread Man Ornaments from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 9. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host a Dinosaur Party from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov.9. 

— St. Luke’s Christmas Craft Bazaar will be hosted from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 9, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 10th and 11th. St. Luke Catholic Church is located at 304 S. Main St. in Nicholasville. There will also be wonderful yummies to explore and great hot food to devour.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Appy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Healthy Life Club from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. 

—Yellow Wood Tutoring in Wilmore will host a parent workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 10. The workshop will help community members gain knowledge and tools to help strengthen visual processing and memory. It will also show participants how identify signs and symptoms of a weak visual system. 

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host Veterans Day Salute beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11. 

—Thompson-Hood Veterans Center will host a Veteran’s Day ceremony beginning at 11:11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. 

—Wilmore Veteran’s Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12.

—Asbury will host a play of 12 Angry Jurors. The play will run on Nov. 10, Nov. 12, and Nov. 17-19 in the Greathouse Theatre at Asbury.
