Asbury drops second straight

sports@jessaminejournal.com
March 3, 2010

An early 4-0 deficit was too much to overcome as Asbury dropped to 2-5 with a 5-4 loss to Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday at Lindsey Wilson Park. Asbury's final game with Lindsey Wilson on Saturday was cancelled due to field conditions.

The Eagles fell behind early in the first as the Tigers put up two in the top of the first and two more in the third. Asbury came back with one in the third, but Iowa Wesleyan added what would be the winning run in the fourth before Asbury scored three times in the bottom of the inning.

Four of the Tigers' 10 hits were home runs, while the Eagles only collected six hits in the game. Blake Englehardt had the only extra-base hit for Asbury with a double. He also scored a run, drove home a run and stole a base.
